The LPA Board of Directors unanimously voted to approve a resolution supporting the establishment of the Vermilion-Lorain Water Trail, as initiated through partnership of LPA, City of Lorain, Lorain County MetroParks, City of Vermilion, Vermilion Port Authority, Erie County MetroParks, Mainstreet Vermilion, and Lorain Growth Corp.
The goal is to apply for water trail designation through ODNR for the purpose encouraging tourism and eco-friendly educational, historical, cultural, and recreational activities on the Vermilion River, Black River, and Lake Erie.
