Port Authority awarded $3.38 million dollars in Stimulus Funds
On April 13, 2009 Governor Strickland announced the award of $3.383 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funds to the Lorain Port Authority for the continued redevelopment of the 58 acre lakefront diked disposal facility. These funds will be utilized to redevelop the east or "mile long" pier for public access. Other aspects of the project include extending public parking along the pier, enhancing fishing access and establishing walking and bike trails.
