Jet Express
On April 2, 2009 the Board of Directors approved the acquisition of the "Monmouth" ferry vessel from NY Waterway to establish excursion ferry service between the Port of Lorain and the Lake Erie Island area. The vessel will be operated by the Jet Express Company which has provided high speed ferry service to the Lake Erie Island area from Port Clinton for over 20 years. Service is also provided from Sandusky. The cost of the vessel is $1.658 million. It is anticipated that service will commence around the 4th of July, in time for the tourist season. The vessel will depart from Black River Landing with service running initially on Friday's Saturday's and Sundays. Approximate running time for the vessel between Lorain and Put-in-bay is one hour.
